| The 16km, 1067mm gauge Bellarine Peninsula railway from Queenscliff to Drysdale is operated by the Geelong Steam Preservation Society over part of the original 1600mm gauge Queenscliff to South Geelong railway. Trains depart from the historic Queenscliff station and follow a scenic water route around the shores of Swan Bay to Laker's Siding ( 4.5km ). They then climb over the rolling
Bellarine Peninsula hills to Drysdale ( 16km ). |
Trains operate every
Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday and school holidays from10
40am to 4.30pm. |
| Location: | Trains depart from Queenscliff, which is approx. 105km (90mins) South of Melbourne, via Geelong. |
| By Road: | via Princes Freeway, then Bellarine Highway to Queenscliff. |
| By Ferry: | Vehicle & Passenger Ferry between Sorrento and Portsea or Passenger Ferry between Sorrento, Portsea and Queenscliff (Both are a 5 minute walk to the Queenscliff Railway Station). |
