The Central Highlands Tourist Railway, now known as the Daylesford Spa Country Railway, operates restored railmotors  over part of the former Victorian Railways branch line which ran from Carlsruhe on the main Melbourne to Bendigo line to the spa town of Daylesford in Victoria, Australia.

The fires at Daylesford have burnt out 1.6 km (1 mile) of track between Daylesford and Musk, this is the entire forest section between the 74 and 73 mile post. DSCR members that have inspected the damage have an initial assessment of 80-90% of the sleepers (approx.2000) having been totally destroyed along with the pit logs near the 74 mile post.

Rail operations at the DSCR commenced again on Sunday 8 March 2009 with a shuttle service from Daylesford to the beginning of the burnt area.

Fifteen minute round trips depart at 10.15, 11.00, 11.30, 12.00, 12.30, 13.00, 13.45 and 14.30.

Fares are $5.00 for Adults and $3.00 for children.

The railway is unique in Australia as it only operates diesel powered self propelled passenger vehicles.

Railmotor trips from Daylesford to Bullarto every Sunday and most public holidays start from 10:00am.
