     Seminar objective: To equip ATR Members to respond to recent legislative changes and publications including:

-    Rail Safety Act 2006 and associated regulations & guidance

  •     National Accreditation Package Ver 2.0

  •     AS 4292.1:2006 & AS 4292.7:2006

  •     RSRP SMS Guidance for Tourist & Heritage Railways

 

-    ARA Code Management Company materials

  •     Australian Rolling Stock Standards (esp. lighting & visibility)

  •     The Australian Network Rules and Procedures

  •     CoP for Safety Investigations

 

-    ASCC National Standards for (1)Licensing high risk work (boiler & engine operator tickets) and (2) Plant (boilers)

     Learning Outcomes: At the conclusion of this seminar you will be able to:

-    Describe the key requirements and transitional timelines of the Rail Safety Act and regulations

-    Identify and locate relevant reference and guidance resources available for efficiently revising/updating your SMS

-    Appropriately use the RSRP SMS Guidance for T&H to efficiently revise/update your SMS

-    Plan for the introduction of revisions to the ATR Rulebook and examination regime

-    Appropriately schedule updates to your SMS and consequent re-training of workers over the next 2-3 years.

-    Ensure that your organisation will not loose rail safety accreditation in 2009 through failure to implement necessary changes.
