| The society holds an order-in-council to restore and operate the
Yarra Glen-Healesville portion of the former Vic Rail line as a Tourist railway. Operations are based at Healesville Railway Station, which is on the Historic Buildings Register.
The railway is steadily rebuilding the
line between Healesville and Yarra Glen and
the first bridges have been
reconstructed to allow trains to run
towards the tunnel from Healesville.
Restoration of rolling stock is also
proceeding and a Walker rail motor has
been restored to a very high
standard for operation on the railway. A
steam engine is under repair and
carriages and other rolling stock are
also being restored. |
Ganger Trolley trips from Healesville to Tunnel Hill block post operate every Sunday, public holidays
and on school holidays from Wednesday to Sunday.
Trips commence every hour from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
